TutorSmart
Our vision for the Academic Tutoring Pillar within our Hope for Toledo Collaborative is that there will be more high-quality opportunities for students within the Greater Toledo area to receive academic tutoring and homework help.
To do this, TutorSmart has agreed to take the lead in identifying tutoring needs among students, ensure quality academic tutoring programs are available and accessible to students and track key metrics in this pillar.
The Hope for Toledo Collaborative will raise financial and human capital that TutorSmart will use to coordinate and assist existing providers of tutoring programs.

Mentoring and Volunteerism

Our vision for the Mentoring and Volunteerism Pillar within our Hope for Toledo Collaborative is that there will be a more efficient method of connecting volunteers to quality volunteer opportunities in the Greater Toledo area.
To do this, TBD has agreed to take the lead in promoting quality volunteer opportunities within organizations that mentor youth in the Greater Toledo area. They will also offer a centralized location for volunteers to be background checked and trained. Finally, they will track and communicate gaps within this pillar to assist the organizations who are mentoring kids in closing these gaps.
This pillar will work collaboratively to connect with our other lead partners who oversee the other three pillars within our Hope for Toledo Collaborative.
Career Development
Junior Achievement of NW Ohio & Toledo Regional COC
Our vision for the Career Development Pillar within our Hope for Toledo Collaborative is that we will create more significant opportunities to expose students within the Greater Toledo area, to careers and career opportunities.
To do this, Junior Achievement and The Greater Toledo Area Regional Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to take the lead in developing a system to identify and coordinate business partners and education partners to allow students within the Greater Toledo area access to guest speakers, job shadowing opportunities, internships, summer employment, and full-time career opportunities.
